Smart communities - Digital Europe project launches open call for pilots

Programmes Climate, Energy, Mobility AI, data & cloud Deployment: Best use of technologiesThe European Data Space for Smart Communities (DS4SSCC-DEP) project launches three rounds of Open Calls for Pilots to validate an EU-wide cross-sectorial data space in practice, and to advance its development and implementation to support policy priorities of cities and communities within the European Union. The pilot call builds on and evolves the governance and technical blueprint established by the cross-sectorial data space preparatory action.
The pilots aim to provide feedback from practice as more firm guidance is put into regulatory instruments, such as requirements for procurement, operation, and reporting, starting from a baseline of high-value datasets to add value by using data from different domains and models. The initiative aims to foster innovation towards a more resilient Europe, supporting local businesses and ecosystems, and emphasizing ethical considerations and AI-enabled local solutions, thereby enhancing the conditions for citizens and communities across Europe.
The pilot call is specifically designed for local public administrations in the EU and the other entities working with them (companies, academia, NGOs). The eligible consortia must be cross-sectorial & cross-border.

SAPHIRe - Securing the Adoption of Personalised Medicin in Regions
The Department of Economy, Science and Innovation of the Flemish government coordinates the Horizon 2020 Coordination and Support Action SAPHIRe, which started on 1 December 2018. The aim of the project is to secure the adoption of personalised medicine in all European regions, including sparsely populated and remote regions and regions with different innovation capacities.
The activities of SAPHIRe are complementary to the smart specialisation partnership on personalised medicine – S3P4PM, which is also coordinated by the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation.
