Building on Mario Draghi’s urgent call for action to help Europe regain its competitive edge and on President von der Leyen’s vision for a new Life Sciences strategy, this event will be a forum to discuss the role of health in the next EU political cycle.
The event targets stakeholders from the pharmaceutical industry, policymakers, patient advocates, and healthcare experts to discuss how to work together to ensure faster, more equitable access to medicines and how AI is revolutionising health research.
Confirmed speakers include Hans Kluge (WHO Europe), Monica Shaw (BMS), and Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen (Novo Nordisk). Member of European Parliament (MEP) Nicolás González Casares (S&D), MEP Stine Bosse (Renew Europe), and MEP Tomislav Sokol (EPP) will also join us to share the European Parliament’s vision for the life sciences industry in the new mandate.
For the first time, EFPIA is partnering with Similes, a Brussels-based charity dedicated to mental health support, to raise funds for their "Family Home Support" project. EFPIA is committed to matching every euro raised for this charity.

Autoship is, as the name suggests, an acronym for autonomous ship. Just like with self-driving cars, the possibilities of an unmanned boat seem endless. It can create more efficient freight transport, around the clock deliveries and these are just a few of the examples. The project has two societal challenges.
At first, De Vlaamse Waterweg was a bit hesitant as their experience with FP7 or Horizon 2020 projects was limited and they had not been very successful up until then. The fact that they were already doing basic research on the topic of autonomous boats, and the administrative help of NCP FLanders helped De Vlaamse waterweg to cross the line and get involved.
