The European Commission, with support of European projects, is organising a workshop to explore gaps in standardisation across different domains and engage relevant industry stakeholders in the fields of Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing and swarm intelligence

This workshop will examine the EU's role in international standardisation efforts and foster collaboration between ongoing IoT and edge computing projects. Participants will also engage in roadmap development, aimed at creating a common approach to standardisation in emerging technologies. Key standardisation committees and initiatives, such as ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41 (SC41) and SAREF (the Smart Applications REFerence ontology), will lead discussions focused on streamlining standardisation efforts across projects.

Limecraft - Powerful workflows for video products

If you’ve never heard of Limecraft, you’re clearly not working in the media sector. Their SaaS platform provides integrated workflows for media management, scripted and unscripted TV, and subtitling and localisation. It is used by leading broadcasting companies – such as BBC, VRT, NPO… – and production firms of which De Mensen or Hotel Hungaria might ring a bell (at least if you are Belgian).

NCP Flanders went to Ghent to interview Maarten Verwaest, CEO and cofounder, about how he sees Horizon 2020. Limecraft is a partner in the MeMAD project, which is a collaborative RIA project submitted to an ICT call topic
