This info session on European Research Council (ERC) Advanced grants 2021 call for proposals is organised by the National Contact Points (NCPs) for ERC in Belgium (NCP Federal BE, NCP-FNRS, NCP Flanders) to inform potential applicants and host institutions.
The ERC Advanced Grant call 2021 is expected to open in May (opening date: 20/05/2021) with a deadline on 31 August 2021. The call will be open to established, leading researchers of any nationality and from any field of research (bottom-up approach), with a track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. There is no minimum or maximum age limit. The amount of the grant is up to € 2.5 million for 5 years (or up to €3.5 million in specific cases). More information on ERC Advanced Grants.
During this information session the modalities of the call for proposals will be presented by ERC Executive Agency staff members and complemented by testimonies of both evaluators and grantees coming from all main domains (Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), Physical Sciences and Engineering (PE) and Life Sciences (LS)). After a short presentation by the evaluator and grantee on their experiences with the evaluation and application process, time is foreseen for any question you might have.
Due to the measures with regard to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, this info session is completely virtual. Participation to this webinar is free and open to any researcher wishing to apply with a Belgian host institution or any staff member of a Belgian host institution. Registration is mandatory. You have the possibility to write any question you might have at this stage in the registration form. Please take this opportunity, as all the questions raised beforehand will be addressed in the relevant presentations. There will be time for Questions and Answers after the presentations by chat, however, more questions will probably be answered in the timeframe of the webinar if most of the questions have already been raised in advance.
The recording and slides are available on the webpage of the info session

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) European Innovative Training Network “PBNv2 - Next generation Pass-By Noise approaches for new powertrain vehicles” started in May 2017. Their research has the shared objective of investigating the possibilities to decrease pass-by noise of vehicles.
The project is a collaboration between 17 research institutions and companies in the European automotive R&D and provides a learning environment for 14 PhD fellows. The Belgian partner is the Noise and Vibration Research Group of KU Leuven, and this project is one of the many Horizon 2020 MSCA Innovative Training Networks that the KU Leuven research group participates in.
