Programmes EIT

The European institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has published the winners of the first call of their initiative “innovation capacity building for higher education”. This will support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with expertise and coaching, funding, and access to the EIT's innovation ecosystem.

There are 23 selected consortia out of 64 applicants. Three of them involve partners from Flanders notably Karel De Grote Hogeschool (SUA), Ugent (EU Accel) and UA (Inno4YUFE).

These consortia will each be awarded up to 1,2 million euro and will run until 2023.  For those HEIs that are interested in this programme it is good to know that a second call will be announced in late 2021. If you want to know more information you can find all the info on this website.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) European Innovative Training Network “PBNv2 - Next generation Pass-By Noise approaches for new powertrain vehicles” started in May 2017. Their research has the shared objective of investigating the possibilities to decrease pass-by noise of vehicles.

The project is a collaboration between 17 research institutions and companies in the European automotive R&D and provides a learning environment for 14 PhD fellows. The Belgian partner is the Noise and Vibration Research Group of KU Leuven, and this project is one of the many Horizon 2020 MSCA Innovative Training Networks that the KU Leuven research group participates in.
