ProgrammesEIT RawMaterials (European Institute for Innovation and Technology) has published KAVA Call 14 – Upscaling for projects in the raw and advanced materials sector. The call supports innovation projects with validated technologies above TRL 5 that need further testing, demonstration or scaling towards market entry at TRL 8. Funding ranges from €500,000 to more than €2.5 million per project, with a project duration of up to 2.5 years.
The call is designed for consortia working on innovative technologies, materials or products in mining, materials and recycling. The call targets projects that are beyond lab scale and need further proof of concept, testing, demonstration or scale-up before they are ready for the market.
Applicants must form a consortium with at least two partners from different Horizon Europe-eligible countries and cover at least two parts of the knowledge triangle: education, research, and industry or business. At least one partner must already be a Core or Associate Partner of EIT RawMaterials, while non-member organisations would need to commit to membership if selected. The lead project participant must be a KIC Partner by the start of the project.
Interested applicants can review the call conditions and consortium requirements through the EIT RawMaterials website and check whether they meet the membership and co-funding conditions before preparing a proposal. The next two deadlines are 24 June 2026 and 16 October 2026.

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-INFRA-2022-TECH-01) and running from 2023 to 2026, the ANERIS project aims to tackle the rapid loss of ocean biodiversity. The project’s main objective is to develop, test and implement the next generation of scientific instrumentation tools and methods for sensing and monitoring marine-life. Another key concept of the project is the introduction of the concept of Operational Marine Biology (OMB) as a biodiversity information system.
