ProgrammesThe EuroHPC Joint Undertaking has adopted an update to its 2026 Work Programme, securing funding for AI Gigafactories and clarifying the conditions for its allocation.
Funding for the AI Gigafactories will combine EU funding, contributions from participating countries, and private investments. EU financial support comes from three EU programmes: Digital Europe Programme, Horizon Europe and Connecting Europe Facility - Digital.
The planned EU contribution amounts to €1 billion in total and is expected to cover 17% of the estimated construction costs of the AI Gigafactories.
The next steps expected include securing funding commitments from interested countries, joint procurement by EuroHPC JU and participating countries to select the best offers, and signing hosting agreements with selected consortia.
We offer news and event updates, covering all domains and topics of Horizon Europe, Digital Europe & EDF (and occasionally, for ongoing projects, Horizon 2020).

It relies on four Knowledge and Support Hubs to create knowledge in the areas of sustaining change, widening participation, intersectionality and innovation. Moreover, it supports stakeholders in their journey to become more inclusive through 12 Communities of Practice. In this way, INSPIRE aims to develop both cutting-edge knowledge and innovative strategies for gender equality in the European Research Area. INSPIRE brings together 14 partners. The Belgian partner in this project is UHasselt.
