The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), part of Horizon Europe, the EU’s research and innovation programme, will launch a new Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) in the water, marine and maritime sectors and ecosystems.

EIT Water, will connect partners from research, business, and education to join the EIT Community and build a pan-European partnership that addresses the most pressing challenges facing water-related innovation ecosystems.

The Call for Proposals for the new KIC will be published in 2025 and the designated EIT KIC will be launched in 2026. You can find more information related to EIT Water and the timeline here.

While the Call for Proposals for the new KIC is yet to be launched, interested organisations are invited to connect on the designated networking platform. Active until the Call's closure, the networking platform allows interested applicants to connect with potential partners and schedule meetings.

To provide interested organisations with more information about the EIT’s upcoming Call for Proposals, the EIT is hosting a series of online info seminars in autumn 2024:

  • 18 September 2024 (10:30 – 11:30 CET) Innovating with the EIT and creating a new partnership. More information here
  • 25 September 2024 (10:30 – 11:30 CET) – Key EIT activities. More information here
  • 2 October 2024 (10:30 – 11:30 CET)  – Nuts and bolts of the EIT granting model. More information here

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the EIT’s innovation model and gain insight into how an EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community fosters innovation.

The Flemish company CrossLang is one of the 12 partners in the project and brings in its year-long expertise in the development of multilingual technology to the transcription and translation of scanned printed and handwritten documents.
