The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the revision of the EIT Regulation (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) with a feedback period from 12 August 2026 till 23 September 2026.

This proposed regulation is one of the final pieces in the revision of the Horizon Europe programme. It wants to examine more in particular the following issues:

  • How to better translate knowledge into market impact ?
  • Which features of the EIT and its KICs (knowledge and innovation communities) have been succesful so far ?
  • How can the EIT better attract and support talented innovators and entrepreneurs ?
  • How can the EIT enhance the synergies with other financial instruments in the next framework programme ?
  • How can the flexibility and governance of the EIT model be improved without hampering the financial interests and ethical rules of the European Union

Stakeholders are invited to share their views through the Commission's Have Your Say portal which can be accessed here.
