ProgrammesThe November MSCA ‘Fellow of the Month’ is Christina Makoundou. Her research addresses two urban challenges: construction waste and road safety. Through her MSCA postdoctoral fellowship BioROAD² at Universiteit Antwerpen in Belgium, she is advancing this idea with biobased and recycled materials to build pavements that are both safer and more sustainable, combining waste reuse with safety design. In this article her research funded by the MSCA is explained. Watch out for more inspiring stories from MSCA fellows to be published on the MSCA website in the coming months.

Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant coordinated the Glaukos project, which answered the call topic published in 2019 of Horizon 2020 Framework Programme ‘Develop bio-based fibres and/or functional molecules to improve the performance of textile products’ under the Framework of the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU). The consortium partners took up this challenge by valorising industrial side streams and setting up a circular approach to the textile industry.
