ProgrammesMIP4Adapt, the platform supporting the implementation of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, is inviting climate adaptation experts from across Europe to express their interest in joining a new Roster of Experts. The initiative aims to strengthen knowledge exchange, collaboration and implementation support across Europe’s climate adaptation community.
The Roster of Experts forms part of the EU Mission on Adaptation’s efforts to strengthen knowledge exchange, collaboration and implementation support across Europe's climate adaptation community. The roster will bring together specialists from research, policy, and practice to support climate adaptation action across the Mission Community. It will help connect regional and local Authorities, Mission Projects and other stakeholders with trusted expertise, while creating opportunities for experts to contribute to Mission activities and knowledge sharing.
Applications received by 31 July 2026 will be reviewed as part of the first assessment round, with successful applicants being included in the initial launch of the roster in September. Autoship is, as the name suggests, an acronym for autonomous ship. Just like with self-driving cars, the possibilities of an unmanned boat seem endless. It can create more efficient freight transport, around the clock deliveries and these are just a few of the examples. The project has two societal challenges.
At first, De Vlaamse Waterweg was a bit hesitant as their experience with FP7 or Horizon 2020 projects was limited and they had not been very successful up until then. The fact that they were already doing basic research on the topic of autonomous boats, and the administrative help of NCP Flanders helped De Vlaamse waterweg to cross the line and get involved.
