Programmes Horizon Europe HorizonEU L+FThe European Commission and Egypt have successfully concluded the negotiations on the association to Horizon Europe. The signing of the association agreement is foreseen for November 2025. Transitional measures are applicable as of 10 April 2025 and will allow Egyptian entities to apply for and to be treated as "eligible entities" established in an associated country in Horizon Europe from the 2025 calls onwards.

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-INFRA-2024-TECH-01-03) and running from 2025 to 2028, UrbanAIR develops advanced digital twins that simulate the interactions between urban climate, human behaviour, and policy choices. These models enable cities to explore what-if scenarios, such as new green infrastructure, mobility measures or building designs, and assess their impacts on health, safety and social equity.
