The planned cancellation concerns three topics:

  • HORIZON-CL4-2026-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-11 on quantum sensors for inertial navigation.
  • HORIZON-CL4-2026-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-12 on standards for quantum technologies as a coordination and support action.
  • HORIZON-CL4-2026-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-18 on large-scale photonic quantum computing platform technologies as a research and innovation action.

According to the Commission, this change follows the adoption of Council Regulation (EU) 2026/150 of 16 January 2026, which amended Regulation (EU) 2021/1173 on the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking and extended the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking's mandate to include quantum technologies. As a result, EuroHPC JU may include similar topics in its 2026 work programme and may open them for submission in the second half of 2026.

DG CNECT jointly with the EuroHPC JU will organise an information session to support interested applicants and provide them all the necessary information. Further information is available from EuroHPC JU, including updates on calls under its work programmes and EuroHPC JU website.
