The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Presidency Conference 2024 will explore the multiple pathways of researchers' careers. It is organised under the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union in cooperation with the European Commission. This two-day event will take place on 18 and 19 April 2024 in Mons/Bergen, at the Wallonia Conference Center. The agenda of the conference is now available and the registration is open. There is an early bird discount on hotel bookings.
Furthermore the call for applications for the poster session is open. People get the opportunity to showcase their research and their research careers in a poster or another medium. They will be displayed during the whole conference. On the first day of the conference, participants will be given the opportunity to present their posters during the breaks. Deadline for applications is 15 March 2024.
The call for the MSCA Awards will open in February. During the conference 15 nominated MSCA researchers or alumni will pitch their research topic, innovative project, social initiative, product, service or idea in front of a jury. The METHYLOMIC project, ‘targeting hope for personalised medicine in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases’ obtained funding from Horizon Europe’s Health Cluster. The project aims to personalise treatment allocation and enhance the effectiveness of medications for chronic immune-mediated diseases such as Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis. BIRD, the Belgian inflammatory bowel disease research and development group, is a partner in the project and is involved in the OmiCrohn trial, a prospective randomised clinical trial for individualised therapy in Crohn’s disease patients. With BIRD’s active role in this trial, the project is set to deliver predictive, biomarker-based therapies that bring renewed hope for Crohn’s disease patients across Europe.
