Launch of Start2DEF Initiative for Startups

Programmes Security Cybersecurity Defence Space

The Start2DEF programme, led by the Royal Higher Institute for Defence (RHID) in collaboration with imec.istart and Ignity, focuses on involving Belgian startups and small SMEs to address current Defence challenges while promoting technological innovation. Information about the call for proposals, including participation guidelines, is accessible on the official website at www.start2def.be starting October 1.

Interested companies may submit proof-of-concept proposals related to one of these themes:

  • (Counter) Swarming
  • Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure

To provide further details about the programme, an online information session is scheduled for October 10, 2025. This session will outline the programme guidelines and address any participant questions.
