BEAT-AF - Ground-Breaking Electroporation-based intervention for Atrial Fibrillation treatment

The Horizon2020 project BEAT-AF brings together 9 European renowned clinical centres in France, Belgium, Czechia, Germany and Austria. Together, the consortium strives to revolutionize Atrial Fibrillation (AF) treatment through catheter ablation and contribute to decrease the huge burden of AF in Europe. The BEAT-AF project kicked off in 2021 and will run until 2026. The department of electrophysiology of the AZ Sint-Jan Hospital in Bruges is partner in the project and has so far contributed to the pre-clinical development, the first in man studies and first registries of the revolutionary AF treatment put forward by the consortium. The first pilot studies show that the treatment is safe, effective and efficient.

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-CARE-14-01), running from 2025 to 2029, the THERESA PCP aims to launch a pre-commercial procurement process (PCP) based on the development of an environmentally sustainable on-site system to decontaminate hospital wastewater. Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-CL5-2023-D6-01-09), running from 2024 to 2028, CLARION (Building Climate-Resilient Ports for the Future) aims to contribute to shaping a sustainable future for the maritime sector by developing and implementing innovative climate adaptation solutions. Port of Antwerp-Bruges is one of the leading European ports involved in the project. Together with two other Flemish project partners, Brabo Group and the Antwerp Maritime Academy, Port of Antwerp-Bruges is developing demo cases that tackle real-life operational and training challenges posed by climate risks. EHRI-IP - European Holocaust Research Infrastructure

The European Holocaust Research Infrastructure Implementation Phase (EHRI-IP) project was funded under Horizon Europe call topic HORIZON-INFRA-2023-DEV-01-02. The project duration was two years and came to an end in February 2026. The main objective of the EHRI-IP project was to undertake all necessary legal, financial and strategic work to have a permanent organisation or ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium) fully operational by the end of the implementation phase.
