Disruption EIC Accelerator application platform - Deadline 7 June cut-off delayed until 21 June 2023

Published on | 1 year ago

Programmes EIC

The EIC Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform for applying to the EIC Accelerator has been discontinued due to a contractual dispute, coming into effect on 2 June 2023.

This means that companies can no longer use the EIC AI Platform for EIC Accelerator applications. In the meantime, as an emergency measure, the Horizon Europe Funding and Tenders Portal is open with immediate effect for EIC Accelerator full (Step 2) applications. A new EISMEA IT Platform will be open for short (Step 1) applications as of early July.

In order to facilitate the transition, we are putting in place the following contingency measures:

  1. A notice on the current EIC AI Platform to inform applicants of the situation and reassure that closure of the EIC AI Platform is not due to any cyberattack or data breach, etc.
  2. A news alert to inform that it will be possible to submit applications on the Horizon Europe Funding and Tenders Portal. The application forms will be much shorter and simpler
  3. The deadline for the 7 June 2023 cut-off for full (Step 2) proposals has been delayed until 21 June 2023 at 17.00 CET to accommodate the change for applicants.
  4. FAQ for applicants at the different stages (preparing short (Step 1), submitted short (Step 1), preparing full (Step 2) applications, submitted full (Step 2) applications) to inform applicants of what they should do.

The FAQ list on the EIC website has been updated according this information.

STARGATE - Sustainable Aviation

The Stargate project obtained funding under the special Green Deal call of Horizon 2020, more in particular under the topic of “green ports and airports”.  It received the maximum score of the evaluators and was selected out of more than 40 projects. Stargate’s purpose is to prove that sustainable aviation is possible and happening. It focuses on the further decarbonization of the aviation industry, the improvement of local environmental quality and the stimulation of the modal split. Together with a consortium of 21 European partners with a diverse and rich expertise (airports, community partners, knowledge institutions, consultants, local governments, …), Brussels Airports takes the lead as lighthouse airport to develop and implement innovative solutions. Results that prove successful can be deployed at the fellow airports (Toulouse, Budapest, Athens). Over the course of the coming five years, the consortium will exchange knowledge to investigate and realize more than 30 concrete projects.
