Programmes Security Digital, Industry & Space CybersecurityThe NIS Cooperation Group has launched a survey to collect feedback aimed at guiding the future steps towards implementing quantum-safe cryptography in Europe. This initiative follows the release of the "Coordinated Implementation Roadmap for the Transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)". Quantum computing poses significant challenges to data security, and the European Commission aims to collaborate with stakeholders to address these challenges.
The public consultation aims to gather input from providers of critical infrastructures, industry stakeholders, and academia. Participants are encouraged to review the existing roadmap and submit concrete proposals, especially those addressing specific sector challenges. Suggestions may include mentioning open-source tools that can assist in this transition.
Feedback will be accepted until 29 September 2025 (18:00 CEST). Contributions will be reviewed and promising proposals may be invited to provide further details and input for the updated roadmap.

Background:
The Network and Information Systems Cooperation Group (NIS Cooperation Group) was established by the NIS Directive to ensure cooperation and information exchange among Member States, the European Commission and the EU Agency for cybersecurity (ENISA). Among the key outputs of the NIS Cooperation Group, there are non-binding guidelines to the EU Members States to allow effective and coherent implementation of the NIS Directive across the EU and to address wider cybersecurity policy issues.

The MareGraph project, ‘Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph’, obtained funding under the Digital Europe topic ‘OPEN-AI – Public Sector Open Data for AI and Open Data Platform’. The project will increase the semantic, technical, and legal interoperability of three selected high-valued datasets (HVDs) all maintained by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), which is one of the four partners of the project. This will allow the onboarding of essential marine datasets in the Common European Data Spaces. As such MareGraph will provide a structural component in the digital transition of the marine landscape. The numerous impacts of the project will benefit our seas globally in old and new ways to come.
