One Ocean Week is a collaborative event organised by several Norwegian public authorities that aims to foster sustainable value creation and encourage discussions on the sustainable use of ocean resources. Participants from business, academia and the public sector will gather to share insights and experiences.

This event serves as a platform for debate and exchange of ideas related to sustainable ocean practices, aligning with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 14, 'Life below water.' The initiative seeks to showcase the importance of clean and rich oceans for global sustainable development.

The City of Hasselt took part in the ONELAB project (2022–2025) as an end user. The project was funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-CL3-2021-DRS-01-05) and focused on developing modular Rapid Response Mobile Laboratories (RRML). These laboratories are designed for rapid deployment in a variety of settings to support disease monitoring.
