ProgrammesThis joint webinar by the European Patent Office and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology is aimed at EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), their project partners, start-ups, students and alumni. It looks at how intellectual property can support commercialisation, scale-up and financial sustainability.
The programme covers the strategic role of intellectual property in innovation, followed by sessions on IP commercialisation, cost-effective protection through the Unitary Patent and fee reductions, EPO case studies and tools, and a study on technology investors. The webinar also includes time for questions during the session on commercialisation.
The event is designed for EIT KICs (knowledge and innovation communities) and related innovation actors (start-ups, incubators, students, etc.) who need practical guidance on turning IP into market value and linking IP management to financing decisions.

Funded by Horizon Europe, under call topic HORIZON-WIDERA-2021-ERA-01-80, INSPIRE is Europe's Centre of Excellence on inclusive gender equality in research and innovation. It relies on four Knowledge and Support Hubs to create knowledge in the areas of sustaining change, widening participation, intersectionality and innovation. Moreover, it supports stakeholders in their journey to become more inclusive through 12 Communities of Practice. In this way, INSPIRE aims to develop both cutting-edge knowledge and innovative strategies for gender equality in the European Research Area. INSPIRE brings together 14 partners. The Belgian partner in this project is UHasselt.
