The Defence Forum Greece focuses on establishing concrete partnerships between Flemish and Greek companies in the context of the European Defence Fund and other regional and federal funding initiatives. The forum aims to facilitate knowledge exchange on securing EDF funds and encourage collaboration within the defence sector.

The event will be held in Athens on 31 March 2026 and is both an in-person forum and an online event. It provides an opportunity for companies in the defence sector to explore the Greek market and engage with local research centres and businesses. Participants can gain insights into Greece's ambitious military modernisation plan, which includes significant investments in defence innovation and technology.

The forum will feature discussions on Greece's Defence Modernisation Plan for 2025-2036, offering practical tips on establishing partnerships and accessing funding. Networking opportunities will be available, with an option for B2B meetings for attending companies.

Registration remains open until 27 March 2026 through this registration link.

More information on the FIT-website

For Flemish researchers and companies interested in the European Defence Fund, this event presents valuable information that may align with their funding applications through FWO and VLAIO resources. For more details, please contact Lise Betjes at lise.betjes@fitagency.be or call +32 2 504 87 37.

You can participate in person by traveling to Athens or online. FIT offers a B2B program upon request for companies traveling to Athens. The B2B program is free, but its content depends on the number of companies registering and the office's available capacity.

The forum is a collaboration between the Belgian Embassy in Greece and the regional agencies Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) and Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX).
