ProgrammesThis online event looks at how disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation can be better connected in regional and local climate risk management. It brings together expert speakers from research and EU-funded projects, with a high-level panel linked to the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. The session is co-organised by the CLIMAAX and CARMINE projects.
Climate-related hazards such as floods, droughts, heatwaves, wildfires and windstorms affect European regions in different ways. This event looks at how stronger links between disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation can improve resilience and avoid maladaptation, especially where local implementation and regulation remain fragmented.
