The Digital Europe-funded Code4Europe Consortium is launching a second round of the International Grants for Grassroots scheme to foster grassroots activities and widen the support offered by EU Code Week in local ecosystems.

Applications for grants for impactful, large-scale activities in digital education, coding, computational thinking, and STEM education can be submitted by organisations with the experience, capacity, and networks required to implement high-impact activities and achieve significant results within a limited timeframe. Eligible applicants are

Schools and educational institutions;

Libraries and similar institutional entities;

Non-governmental organisations;

Private organisations and coding clubs;

Associations specialised in coding and computational thinking

Information on the scope of the call, elibility, evaluation and participation conditions can be found on the Funding & Tenders Portal and the dedicated website.

Deadline to submit applications is 17 October 2026.

EU lifts funding restriction for Hungarian institutions

The EU Council removed the restriction that had blocked certain Hungarian trust-based institutions and organisations run by them from receiving EU funding. The decision became legally effective on 14 October 2026, which means these entities can again take part in EU-funded projects under the usual grant rules.
