ProgrammesThe NATO Support and Procurement Agency has launched a Request for Proposal for the Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability Concept Design phase. The call, published on 31 July 2026, is limited to four pre-qualified bidders and has a closing time of 31 August 2027. It builds on earlier concept studies and a common operational and technical baseline agreed with six participating nations.
The Request for Proposal covers the Next Generation Rotorcraft Capability Concept Design phase and asks each of the four pre-qualified bidders to propose up to two concept design solutions. The package also includes an offer for de-risking activities to help mature the proposed designs in an initial step of incremental development.
According to NSPA, the RFP is based on a harmonised operational and technical baseline developed with Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. This baseline includes key performance parameters linked to capability and supportability requirements, together with operational mission scenarios.
NSPA says the procurement is the first it has launched under its new “Acquisition by Qualified Options” competitive mechanism. Bid evaluation is planned to finish by the end of 2027, after which NSPA aims to submit an evaluation summary report to the participating nations. The agency also plans to use digital trials in an in-house modelling and simulation environment as part of the operational evaluation.

If you’ve never heard of Limecraft, you’re clearly not working in the media sector. Their SaaS platform provides integrated workflows for media management, scripted and unscripted TV, and subtitling and localisation. It is used by leading broadcasting companies – such as BBC, VRT, NPO… – and production firms of which De Mensen or Hotel Hungaria might ring a bell (at least if you are Belgian).
