Programmes DefenceThe EU offers dedicated matchmaking platforms to connect innovators, companies, and investors in the defence sector. Below are two key platforms that help organisations build networks and accelerate innovation within the European defence ecosystem.
EUDIS Matchmaking platform is continuously open and connects defence innovators, investors, corporations, and end-users across Europe through structured, high-value networking—both online and in-person.
This platform is part of the EU Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS), a key initiative within the European Defence Fund (EDF) that promotes innovation and strengthens defence research and development (R&D) across Europe.
EUDIS plays a key role in expanding the European defence innovation ecosystem, with a strong focus on start-ups and SMEs. It provides end-to-end support—from concept to market entry–helping innovators connect with industry players, secure funding, and drive competitiveness in the defence sector.

European Defence Agency (EDA) offers a safe B2B Platform to facilitate the creation of cross-border partnerships in the defence sector. Thanks to this platform, registered companies, including sme’s, can quickly and confidentially search for potential partners to develop their business.

Funded by Horizon Europe, under call topic HORIZON-WIDERA-2021-ERA-01-80, INSPIRE is Europe's Centre of Excellence on inclusive gender equality in research and innovation. It relies on four Knowledge and Support Hubs to create knowledge in the areas of sustaining change, widening participation, intersectionality and innovation. Moreover, it supports stakeholders in their journey to become more inclusive through 12 Communities of Practice. In this way, INSPIRE aims to develop both cutting-edge knowledge and innovative strategies for gender equality in the European Research Area. INSPIRE brings together 14 partners. The Belgian partner in this project is UHasselt.
