Programmes Digital Europe SemiconductorsThe Chips for Europe Initiative (the “Initiative”) is established by Pillar I of the European Chips Act for the
duration of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027. It aims to strengthen the EU's semiconductor
ecosystem, to boost competitiveness and achieve technological sovereignty. The implementation of the Initiative is designed in a way to pool resources from the Union, the Member States as well as the private sector. The total Union funding amounts to 3,3 billion EUR, which includes funding from Horizon Europe and from the Digital Europe Programme (DEP).
Knowledge of underlying EU policies and legislations is a key element in Digital Europe proposals as they play an important role in the “relevance” evaluation criterion. This Policy Briefing is one of several briefings prepared by DEP4ALL, the NCP Network for the Digital Europe programme, to support applicants with summaries of relevant EU initiatives.
We offer news and event updates, covering all domains and topics of Horizon Europe, Digital Europe & EDF (and occasionally, for ongoing projects, Horizon 2020).

The AI4Culture project, funded under Digital Europe call Data space for cultural heritage (deployment) aims to develop an online capacity building hub for AI technologies in the cultural heritage sector. This hub contributes to the creation of the European common cultural heritage data space, which provides support to the digital transformation of Europe’s cultural sector and fosters the creation and reuse of content in cultural and creative sectors. The Flemish company CrossLang is one of the 12 partners in the project and brings in its year-long expertise in the development of multilingual technology to the transcription and translation of scanned printed and handwritten documents.
