ProgrammesCEN, CENELEC, and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) anually carry out a ‘foresight on standardization’ initiative named Putting Science into Standards (PSIS)
The 2023 PSIS workshop will take place online on 12-13 December 2023, and will focus on Circular technologies for construction.
This PSIS workshop will facilitate the exchange of views on standardization needs for implementing circular technologies in the construction sector.
Aims of the workshop:
Registration is yet to open. More information can be found on the official announcement.
Background information: The construction sector is one of the priority areas addressed by the Circular Economy Action Plan of the European Green Deal. The sector is responsible for over 35% of the EU’s total waste generation, with construction and demolition waste being one of the most significant waste streams. The uptake of circular economy in the construction sector is influenced by policies scattered in areas ranging from the Waste Framework Directive to the Construction Products Regulation and product standards, with a consequent need for effective coordination.
