Water systems across Europe are under increasing pressure from climate change, with more frequent and intense droughts, floods and water pollution challenges affecting people, ecosystems and economic activities. Regional and local authorities are at the forefront of addressing these challenges, often needing to manage competing water demands while ensuring long-term sustainability.

At the same time, EU-funded research and innovation projects are developing a wide range of practical solutions—from nature-based restoration approaches to integrated water management tools and circular water systems—that can support climate-resilient water management, water security and resource efficiency.

This event brings together EU projects funded under the Green Deal Call (GDC) and the EU Mission Adaptation to Climate Change, and regional and local authorities, to explore how these solutions can be effectively replicated and scaled in practice. In doing so, it contributes to the objectives of the European Water Resilience Strategy (2025), which aims to restore the water cycle, build a water-smart economy, and ensure secure and affordable water for all.

This event is organised by MIP4Adapt and the Green Deal Projects Support Office (GD-SO).

ScreenME - Enhancing excellence in screen media entrepreneurship

The Horizon2020 twinning project ScreenME has as its objective to enhance excellence in screen media entrepreneurship at Tallinn University (TLU). To do so, ScreenME has established a network of universities across Europe that aim to improve research into and teaching of entrepreneurship for the screen media industry. ScreenME will develop a teaching course and will kick off research initiatives and projects on entrepreneurial activities in media organisations. The research group on ‘Studies in Media, Innovation and Technology (SMIT)’ of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is partner in the network and is involved in two cross-cutting activities of the project: support for early stage researchers and developing stakeholder involvement.
