The NGI Forum 2025 is the flagship event of the European Commission’s Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative. It brings together some of Europe’s top Internet innovators at work to build an Internet of Trust, empowering end-users with more choice and control over their data and digital identity.

The NGI Forum 2025 aims to:

  • Promote the NGI vision and its latest advancements
  • Engage key stakeholders in meaningful discussions on internet governance, digital innovation, and policy development
  • Facilitate networking and collaboration among the NGI community, industry leaders, and policymakers
  • Provide a space for knowledge-sharing on open-source development, trust technologies, and decentralized digital ecosystems

The mission of NGI is to re-imagine and re-engineer the Internet. The NGI initiative funds European innovative research projects that make it possible to develop a new Internet that is safer, more open, more respectful of people and more useful to all citizens. Over a bit more than four years in operation, it has built a unique ecosystem of highly talented and value-driven innovators changing the course of the Internet, mostly working on open source (hardware and software).

The NGI Forum is the ideal place to learn more about upcoming calls in Horizon Europe related to NGI. You can as well take part in discussions on future priorities with experts across domains such as Trust and Data Sovereignty, Internet Architecture, Decentralised Technologies or new methods of Search.

The NGI community contains innovators, researchers, developers, policymakers and civil society players.
