Enhancing EU R&I Missions Horizon Europe

The Polish National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and Business and Science Poland (BSP) offices in Brussels organise a talk with Mr. Bruno Maquart, President of the European Network of Science Centres and Museums (ECSITE) and Chairman & CEO of Universcience. The topic of the talk is citizens’ engagement in research & innovation, more specifically in the EU Missions and Horizon Europe, and questions that will be tackled are:

  1. What are the benefits of citizens’ engagement?
  2. How to draw the attention of the EU citizens and engage them in participation in science research and innovation, and in the policy-making processes?
  3. Overloading citizens with surveys and consultations can lead to disengagement. What actions should we consider to avoid citizen fatigue?
  4. How to measure the impact of citizens’ engagement accurately to secure the best quality?
  5. What are the best examples of the activities of the citizens’ engagement based on the ECSITE experience?

Registration for the talk is required by 26 September. In the registration form you can indicate the type of presence (at the venue or online) and submit questions for the speaker.

YoPA – Youth-centered participatory action for a healthy lifestyle

The YoPA project, ‘a youth-centred preventive action approach towards co-created implementation of socially and physically activating environmental interventions’ obtained funding from Horizon Europe’s Health Cluster. The project addresses the multifaceted challenges of physical inactivity and health inequalities through a unique participatory approach. The project places teenagers between 12 and 18 years old in vulnerable situations at the forefront of the intervention process. The Institute of Tropical Medicine is a partner in the project and will conduct a Realist Evaluation to understand how youth co-creation contributes to improved adolescent health and well-being in four cities in Denmark, Netherlands, Nigeria and South Africa.  By integrating its results and sharing its approach in an open access Toolbox, ITM aims to contribute to fostering sustainable, youth-led solutions for healthier urban environments.
