This virtual info session on Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) 2023 call is organised by the National Contact Points (NCPs) for MSCA in Belgium (NCP Federal BENCP-FNRSNCP Flanders) to inform potential applicants and host institutions from both the academic and non-academic sectors (including industry, business and SMEs, …).

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023 call is expected to open on the 12th of April with a deadline on 13 September 2023. Postdoctoral Fellowships support post-doctoral research and careers in all scientific fields. Supported researchers have a PhD and a maximum of 8 years of post-PhD research experience. This limit can be extended for several reasons (e.g. maternity leave, paternity leave, …) Host institutions need to be located in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. The grant amount depends on the number of person-months. The postdoctoral fellowships have a duration between 12 and 36 months (depending on the type).

During this information session the objectives of PFs, call modalities and hands-on information on the application submission and evaluation process will be provided, complemented by the perspectives from a MSCA PF fellow and an expert evaluator.

This info session is completely virtual. Participation to this webinar is free and open to any researcher in any career stage wishing to apply with a Belgian host institution or any staff member of a Belgian host institution (both from the academic and non-academic sectors). Registration is mandatory.

YoPA – Youth-centered participatory action for a healthy lifestyle

The YoPA project, ‘a youth-centred preventive action approach towards co-created implementation of socially and physically activating environmental interventions’ obtained funding from Horizon Europe’s Health Cluster. The project addresses the multifaceted challenges of physical inactivity and health inequalities through a unique participatory approach. The project places teenagers between 12 and 18 years old in vulnerable situations at the forefront of the intervention process. The Institute of Tropical Medicine is a partner in the project and will conduct a Realist Evaluation to understand how youth co-creation contributes to improved adolescent health and well-being in four cities in Denmark, Netherlands, Nigeria and South Africa.  By integrating its results and sharing its approach in an open access Toolbox, ITM aims to contribute to fostering sustainable, youth-led solutions for healthier urban environments.
