This two-day forum is designed to help Korean and European researchers prepare joint applications for Horizon Europe 2026–2027 calls. It brings together Korean and European researchers, coordinators and Horizon Europe experts for pitching, consortium building and tailored consulting around Cluster 3 and Cluster 6 topics.

The forum is co-organised by the National Research Foundation of Korea and the Korea-EU Research Centre under the Ministry of Science and ICT. It focuses on Horizon Europe Cluster 3, covering areas such as cybersecurity, border management and disaster resilience, and Cluster 6, covering areas such as biodiversity, bioeconomy, circular bio and zero pollution.

The programme includes an orientation session for Korean participants on Horizon Europe application procedures and pitching strategies, followed by plenary and policy sessions, pitch presentations, consortium discussions, open consulting and individual or consortium-level consulting with Horizon Europe specialists.

The event is expected to bring together around 70 Korean and European researchers for in-person discussion and networking, including dinner and lunch sessions intended to support consortium formation.

Luciad - Geospatial software for mission-critical operations

Founded in 1999, Luciad serves clients in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Though it recently was acquired by Hexagon Geospatial, they kept an agile SME mindset. Thousands of end users work directly with Luciad’s geospatial applications, and major systems integrators (think Airbus Defense and Space, Lufthansa Systems, NATO, Thales…) incorporate its software in their own products.

NCP Flanders went to Leuven to interview Frederic Houbie, the Research Projects Manager at Luciad, about how he sees Horizon 2020. Luciad is a partner in the MARISA project, which is a collaborative RIA project submitted to an ICT call topic
