This matchmaking event is focused on call topics in Cluster 4 (digitalisation and industry) and Cluster 5 (batteries and hydrogen). It is a one-day event, with 1 plenary session and six thematic workshops with pitching sessions, and B2B meetings. The main domains covered are:
- Manufacturing, Circularity & Energy-Intensive Industries
- Raw Materials
- Advanced Materials
- Energy Storage (Battery Value Chain and Hydrogen)
- Artificial Intelligence
- ICT

The event includes a get-together in the afternoon of 4 February 2026, providing a relaxed setting for participants to meet each other before the official start. 

As it is a matchmaking event, participants of all types and backgrounds - e.g. SMEs, Industrials, Researchers, Universities, Laboratories, Cities and Public Authorities - are welcome.

Participation is free of charge but registration is mandatory since the number of on-site participants is limited. More info and registration on the event website.

Background: KETs (Key Enabling Technologies) in Horizon Europe are generic technologies like advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, AI, micro/nanoelectronics, photonics, life sciences, and security/connectivity. They're prioritized in EU industrial strategy to support innovation and help SMEs quickly develop and test innovations.

ATHENA - Cybersecurity for the water sector

The ATHENA project addresses emerging risks for the water sector in operational technology created by digitalisation. The project responds to Digital Europe call DIGITAL-ECCC-2022-CYBER-03-UPTAKE-CYBERSOLUTIONS – Uptake op Innovative Cybersecurity Solutions. The project started in September 2023 and will run until November 2026. De Vlaamse Waterweg - The Flemish Waterway participates in the project to enhance the resilience of the organisation by co-developing targeted training modules for operational technology environments.
