The next edition of EFECS – the European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems is set for December 3–4, 2025 in Malta at the same location of the inaugural ECSEL Symposium in 2017. The event will focus on boosting innovation and European competitiveness in the ECS sector.

This year's theme, "Accelerate Innovation: Building European Competitiveness," emphasizes value chain security, sustainability, and the exploration of emerging market opportunities. Key features include insightful keynotes and discussions on cutting-edge topics like quantum tech, cybersecurity, and AI.

Attendees will have the chance to network with over 700 stakeholders from Europe’s semiconductor and ECS ecosystem, as well as strengthen the Chips Joint Undertaking mission. The event aims to celebrate progress and shape the future of the ECS value chain. Registration details will be available soon.

EITHOS - European Identity Theft Observatory System

The EITHOS project, funded under Horizon Europe Cluster 3 call “Online identity theft is countered”, aims to develop a “European Identity Theft Observatory System” (EITHOS). The system will provide easy access to information and intelligence about previous and current identity theft related trends to empower EU citizens, Law Enforcements Agencies (LEAs), and policy makers to further contribute to the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes related to online identity theft. The Cyber and Data Security Lab (CDSL), part of the Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) Research Group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), is one of the 12 partners in the EITHOS consortium, contributing its vast expertise on legal aspects of data protection, cybersecurity and information security law and policy.
