On 1 September 2023, the new Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) calls will open. The Flemish Agency for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) supports the second round of calls with €800.000, with a project cap of €500.000.

VLAIO is organising an infosession on 4 October 2023, tailored towards enterprises and local governments who are interested in participating in the DUT calls.

The deadline for this round is 21 November 2023.

More information about this event can be found on the official announcement. Registration is free, but mandatory. The infosession will be in Dutch.

The themes in the second round of DUT calls will focus on:

  • Positive Energy Districts

    • PED topic 1: Energy Resilience and Energy Poverty
    • PED topic 2: Urban Regeneration and Refurbishment
    • PED topic 3: Enabling Systems for Local Energy Transitions: Collaboration and Sustainable Investment
  • 15-minutes City Pathway

    • 15mC topic 1: Integrated Policies and Evidence to Reduce Car-dependency 
    • 15mC topic 2: Mobility and Planning Policies for Proximity-oriented Developments
    • 15mC topic 3: Empower People for Urban Mobility Transitions
  • Circular Urban Economies Pathway

    • CUE topic 1: The Built Environment as a Resource Base
    • CUE topic 2: Knowledge and optimisation of resources flows between urban and rural areas
    • CUE topic 3: Planning and Designing urban areas with Nature: Towards a Regenerative Urbanism

SeaFoodTomorrow - improving the safety and dietary properties of seafood

The Project SeafoodTomorrow is a project that is approved within the call BG-08-2017: Innovative sustainable solutions for improving the safety and dietary properties of seafood.

The three-year SeafoodTomorrow project brings together 34 partners. From Flanders, ILVO takes part in the project.They are responsible for setting up two databases which are the central point of the project to gather all the project data from analysis and assessement. ILVO is also leader of the workpackage dealing with authenticity, traceability and labelling. ILVO is also involved a the workpackage about novel food preparation. And in the managerial part, ILVO is head of the IPC- Intellectual Property Comité.
