The Chips JU is organising a consultation workshop on skills to explore the potential scope of a dedicated call in the Chips JU Work Programme 2026.

The workshop on skills will address the perceived needs on skills, such as shortage of young talent interested in semiconductors, limited specialised training for advanced technologies, and insufficient well-equipped infrastructure to support education and lifelong training.

Actions already supported by Chips JU, such as pilot lines, design platform and competence centres, will present their activities in skills development, highlight what is lacking and propose what could be achieved within the Chips JU framework. Representatives of the three Industry Associations, AENEAS, EPoSS and INSIDE, will then share perspectives from industry, SMEs and academia. Finally, the European Commission will present its portfolio of skills-related initiatives and outline plans for the coming years.

In a second part of the workshop, panellists will engage with participants to shape a possible action that could lead to a dedicated call. This call should complement existing Chips JU activities and provide an effective solution to urgent skills needs not covered by other programmes.

The agenda and panel are currently being finalised and will be shared soon on this website. Registrations are already possible via the same website.
