This event addresses research and innovation for biometrics and digital identity in complex operational environments. It is designed to bring together innovators, users and policy makers working on civil security use cases such as law enforcement, border management and disaster response.
Organised by the European Association for Biometrics in cooperation with CERIS, this event is part of Darmstadt Biometrics Week 2026. It will focus on operational challenges such as privacy, interoperability, trust, usability and explainability, presenting current European research and studies, including work linked to Horizon Europe projects.

GenderSAFE, funded by Horizon Europe under call topic HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ERA-01-09, is a project that advances efforts to implement a zero-tolerance approach to gender-based violence in higher education and research in the European Research Area. This overall objective will be achieved through a five-fold strategy. The project exists of a European-wide consortium of six partners.
