ProgrammesThe European Commission is organising an Implementation Day focusing on Novelties in the 2026-2027 main Horizon Europe (HE) work programme (wp).
The session will address novelties in the application process and criteria. This is particularly relevant in light of the simplification measures introduced by the Commission in the reference documents accompanying the 2026–2027 HE main wp, including substantial changes in the Standard Application Forms for Research and Innovation Actions and Innovation Actions (RIA/IA) and Coordination and Support Actions (CSA) (more info on this here).
The session will also address novelties in Choose Europe for Science. This includes the changes in the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Choose Europe for Science 2027 call compared to the 2025 pilot call and other actions under the 2026-2027 HE main wp contributing to the objectives of the Choose Europe for Science initiative i.e. strenghtening research infrastructures, the ERA Chairs call and the European Innovation Ecosystem (EIE).

Professor Lieven Eeckhout’s main research interests include computer architecture and the hardware/software interface with a specific emphasis on performance evaluation and modeling, and dynamic resource management.
Professor Eeckhout is the recipient of a European Research Council (ERC) Starting grant, Advanced grant and three Proof of Concept grants. Two of his former PhD students founded in 2013 CoScale, a spin-off in data center monitoring, which was acquired by New Relic.
