Enhancing EU R&I

NCP_WIDERA.NET, the network of National Contact Points for Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (WIDERA) organises the ERA Knowledge Day and Brokerage Event for the ERA Call 2024-02. The event is focused on the ERA 2024-02 call topics specified in the Horizon Europe WIDERA Work Programme for 2023-2025. The call for the 3 call topics opened on 15 May and will close on 25 September 2024 17:00.

Programme of the day

10h-12:30h: In the first part of the event, participants will gain insights into the new ERA call topics for 2024 (HORIZON-WIDERA-2024-ERA-02), as outlined in the WIDERA Work Programme 2023-2025. These presentations will be conducted by European Commission officers.

13:30-18:00: The second part of the event will provide an opportunity for participants to engage in matchmaking with potential ERA Call 2024-02 participants and stakeholders through pre-arranged bilateral meetings. This aims to identify possible collaborations and streamline the establishment of Horizon Europe ERA project consortia.

Participation in this event is free of charge and registration is mandatory on the event website.

RUSTICA - Converting organic residues into bio-based fertiliser products

The RUSTICA project obtained funding under Horizon 2020, more in particular under the topic ‘Closing nutrient cycles’.  RUSTICA focuses on demonstration and implementation of circular bio-based nutrient valorisation chains, focusing on waste from the fruit and vegetable agro-food system. The project kicked off in 2021 and will run until 2024. It will use a strong multi-actor approach to co-create both socio-economic and technological knowledge in four case study regions in Europe and one in Colombia. The Flanders-based company DRANCO is one of the project partners and acts as technical project manager for the entire project. DRANCO participates in the project to develop its own technologies, to network and to help make the transition to a more circular based economy.
