Programmes Digital, Industry & Space AI, data & cloud Deployment: Best use of technologiesMyData Global is an award-winning international non-profit that furthers the rights of individuals over their personal data. Given the increasing importance of personal data, we believe it's worth putting this organisation on your radar (if not already). Because personal data is everywhere. In every domain, niche and application context. It is connected to a lot of research fields where every year new advances are made.
MyData helps people and organisations to benefit from personal data in a human-centric way. To create a fair, sustainable, and prosperous digital society for all. People get value from their data and set the agenda on how it is used. For organisations, the ethical use of data is always the most attractive option.
The main work is spread over three key shifts:
- from formal to actionabe rights
- From data protection to data empowerment
- From closed to open ecosystems
Interested? Make sure to read the State of MyData paper, to help you understand the landscape of personal data/MyData and how to leverage it in various contexts, encouraging further work in governance and standardisation, and highlighting the important pillars crucial for implementing personal data in practice. The State of MyData 2021 provides a snapshot of how we are moving forward on the journey towards a fair, sustainable, and prosperous digital society for all.
You want a more detailed look at the principles behind the promo talk? Then the MyData Declaration, that emerged out of the European Personal Information Management Services (PIMS) Community, is your next read.
The declaration develops a common set of principles for human-centric personal data. At the moment 1474 organisations and individuals have committed to the MyData principles for ethical personal data management, and this number is growing steadily.
