ProgrammesYesterday a joint statement ‘We need much more MSCA!’ was published. The currently 13 organisations that endorse the statement lament the lack of MSCA in Mario Draghi’s report the Future of European Competitiveness and the Mission Letters for the proposed Executive Vice-President for People, Skills and Preparedness Roxana Mînzatu (letter), and Commissioner for Startups, Research, and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva (letter). In the statement emphasis is laid on the lasting impact of the programme on the careers of researchers, research, doctoral and postdoctoral training in Europe and the universities, research institutions and non-academic organisations. They urge the European Commission, Parliament and Council to recognise the MSCA's invaluable contributions by increasing its budget, while maintaining its purely bottom-up research character.

The EITHOS project, funded under Horizon Europe Cluster 3 call “Online identity theft is countered”, aims to develop a “European Identity Theft Observatory System” (EITHOS). The system will provide easy access to information and intelligence about previous and current identity theft related trends to empower EU citizens, Law Enforcements Agencies (LEAs), and policy makers to further contribute to the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes related to online identity theft. The Cyber and Data Security Lab (CDSL), part of the Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) Research Group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), is one of the 12 partners in the EITHOS consortium, contributing its vast expertise on legal aspects of data protection, cybersecurity and information security law and policy.
