ProgrammesThe EIT has opened the call for a new EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community (EIT KIC) in the water, marine and maritime sectors and ecosystems. It will address global challenges including: water scarcity, droughts and floods as well as marine and freshwater degradation.
The main goal of this new organisation will be to strengthen the blue economy and Europe's competitiveness through innovation by bringing together top experts from the knowledge triangle (education, research and business).

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-INFRA-2024-TECH-01-03) and running from 2025 to 2028, UrbanAIR develops advanced digital twins that simulate the interactions between urban climate, human behaviour, and policy choices. These models enable cities to explore what-if scenarios, such as new green infrastructure, mobility measures or building designs, and assess their impacts on health, safety and social equity.
