ProgrammesAbstract submission and registration are open for the first European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare Scientific Conference. The event is set to take place in Milan, Italy, from 19 to 22 January 2027 and invites contributions from both EUP AH&W members and non-members. Abstracts are due by 31 August 2026.
The conference is designed to bring together researchers working on animal health and welfare across terrestrial and aquatic systems. The programme is not final yet but will aim to cover prevention and control of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, animal welfare monitoring, diagnostics, vaccines, treatments, and integrated approaches including socio-economic aspects.
Abstracts should be in British English, present new scientific results on animal health and welfare, and stay within 2,000 characters, with one abstract allowed per presenting author. Feedback on submitted abstracts is expected around mid-October 2026. This is the submission form.
Registration is also open for the main conference. Early bird registration runs until 31 October 2026, regular registration until 9 January 2027, and on-site registration is subject to seat availability. More information is available here.

The UNCHAIN project, ‘urban logistics and planning: anticipating urban freight generation and demand including digitalisation of urban freight’ obtained funding from the Horizon Europe’s Mobility Cluster. The project focuses on breaking down data silos and promoting public-private data exchange across a unified European mobility data space, enabling more informed decisions and greater efficiency. The City of Mechelen is a partner in the project and takes on the role of ‘follower city’: it will work alongside the primary demonstration sites (in Madrid, Berlin and Florence) to maximize the geographical coverage and replicability of solutions across Europe. Mechelen aims to test 2 concrete solutions in the UNCHAIN project, with the aim to help addressing its current and future challenges in urban freight distribution.
