The session covers horizontal activities relevant across all Pillar II clusters. It is expected to include policy background, topic presentations and practical guidance for applicants, including how to approach project design, expected impact and implementation.

The info day will focus on two parts of the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2026–2027 under Horizontal Activities:

Nature

This call supports EU priorities on quality of life, food security, water, nature, sustainable prosperity and competitiveness, recognising that people depend fully on nature.

It aims to increase biodiversity-related R&I funding in the Horizon Europe 2026-2027 Work Programme across Pillar II.

The call covers:  

• protecting and restoring nature through living labs and open innovation
• helping digital and industrial sectors assess their dependencies and impacts on biodiversity
• mobilising social sciences, data, AI and ocean observation to support a nature-positive society
• supporting biodiversity data for One Health policies

Bridging

The call on bridging actions includes a series of topics designed to help ensure a smooth transition between Horizon Europe 2021–2027 and its successor for 2028–2034.

The call covers three main areas:  

1. Knowledge valorisation and data access 

2. Research infrastructures and data access 

3. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• public and private organisations interested in participating in Horizon Europe proposals

• stakeholders involved in the uptake, scale-up or financing of research and innovation outcomes

• National Contact Points and other research support actors
