As part of the European Youth Week (EYW) 2026, the European Commission, together with researchers funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), will host an interactive session exploring how EU-funded research connects to the everyday lives of young people.

This interactive session exploring how EU-funded research, with a strong international dimension, connects to the everyday lives of young people in Europe and beyond.

3 MSCA-funded projects will contribute to the session.

  • YOUTHMOVE – migrant youth, identity, and inclusive sport. This session will feature MSCA postdoctoral researcher Dr Selçuk Açıkgöz, Université catholique de Louvain.
  • PARTICIPATE – cyberbullying and safer online spaces. This session will feature doctoral candidate Giorgia Scuderi, PARTICIPATE, Aarhus Universitet.
  • YoungFitT – mental and physical wellbeing of university students. This session will feature MSCA postdoctoral researcher Dr Samira Rostami, YoungFitT, Universidad de Barcelona.

Inspired by Augusto Boal’s Forum Theatre as a participatory tool, the session will move beyond a traditional panel format and invite participants to actively engage in discussing challenges and exploring solutions.

Researchers will share insights from their work with young people across Europe and beyond, followed by interactive exchanges on key topics such as

  • mental health
  • cyberbullying
  • migration and inclusion
  • gender equality

This sessions offer an opportunity to engage directly with researchers and policymakers, and reflect on how research can make a tangible difference in young people’s lives.

All information related to the session can be found in the annucement on the MSCA website. The EYW event website will soon be updated with more information on the event and on how to register.

About the European Youth Week 2026

The European Youth Week  is an initiative of the European Commission, organised every other year to celebrate and promote youth engagement, participation and active citizenship across Europe and beyond.

The 2026 edition will take place from 24 April to 1 May 2026 and will be dedicated to the theme of “Solidarity and Fairness”. It will also mark 30 years of volunteering in Europe, highlighted through an exhibition showcasing Europeans who have made a difference in society.

The week will kick off at the European Parliament in Brussels with over 1,000 participants, mainly young people, who will exchange ideas and views during a full day of activities. The opening session will be followed by high-level discussions bringing together policymakers and young people.

Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about EU opportunities and policies, engage in discussions on topics that matter to them, and take part in activities organised across Europe and beyond.
