ProgrammesThis information webinar on the next European Research Council (ERC) Starting and Consolidator Grant calls for proposals is organised by the National Contact Points (NCPs) for ERC in Belgium (NCP Federal BE, NCP Flanders and NCP-FNRS) to inform potential applicants and host institutions. It is also aimed at researchers who are considering applying in the future.
ERC Starting Grants 2027 are targeting researchers who have successfully defended their first PhD no more than 10 years before 1 January 2027.
ERC Consolidator Grants 2027 are targeting researchers who have successfully defended their first PhD between 5 and 15 years before 1 January 2027.
Please note the eligibility periods can be extended beyond 10 and 15 years for certain situations.
Researchers will be awarded at most one Starting Grant and one Consolidator Grant during their career. The amount of the grant is up to €1,5 million (Starting Grants) or €2 million (Consolidator Grants) for 5 years – or up to €3,5 million (Starting Grants) or €4 million (Consolidator Grants) in specific cases. More information can be found in the following ERC announcement: Applying for an ERC grant in the 2027 competitions: what you need to know (16 april) and ERC Scientific Council readjusts rules for reapplication (29 April).
The ERC Work Programme 2027 is not yet available so call opening dates and deadlines are not yet known. As in previous years publication of the work programme is expected in summer 2026.
