ProgrammesThe Committee of the regions will organise a “Conference on European Missions” on 25 November, 9:30-12:15. The aim of the conference is to launch the implementation of EU Missions and to explore the EU Climate Adaptation Mission and the Cities Mission in more detail in a debate with members of the Committee of the Regions and city representatives. All information about the event can be found here
The conference will firstly focus on the missions as a whole and in the second part will look more in-depth at the mission on 100 climate neutral and smart cities and also partially at the mission on climate adaptation for regions.
It will be in a hybrid format and you are invited to join remotely via the Interactio platform. Interpretation into English, French, German and Polish will be provided. The link will be sent to registered participants: REGISTER HERE
You can also watch the event in a webstream, without the need to register: Watch the event
Cities can already pre-register for the Call for Expression of Interest. Please note that only Belgian cities with a minimum of 50.000 inhabitants can apply and it is actually recommended that a candidate-city has over 100.000 people living there. However companies and organisations can also be part of the consortium in another capacity (e.g. subcontractors) so this seminar can be of interest to them as well.
We offer news and event updates, covering all domains and topics of Horizon Europe, Digital Europe & EDF (and occasionally, for ongoing projects, Horizon 2020).

The Miricle project, ‘Mine Risk Clearance for Europe’, obtained funding under the European Defence Industrial Development programme call ‘Underwater control contributing to resilience at sea’. The main objective of the project was to achieve a European and sovereign capacity in future mine warfare and create a path for the next generation ‘made in Europe’ countermeasure solutions. In order to realise this objective, Miricle addressed various stages: studies, design, prototyping and testing. These stages inter alia included the successful testing of an XL Unmanned Underwater Vehicle, a protototyped mine disposal system and multiple innovative systems to detect buried mines. Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), was one of the five Belgian partners in the consortium. Within the project, VLIZ was able to forward its research on the acoustic imaging of the seabed to spatially map and visualize buried structures and objects - in this case buried mines - in the highest possible detail. VLIZ also led the work on ‘Port and Offshore Testing’, building on the expertise of the institute in the field of marine operations and technology.
