ProgrammesThis Workshop will present and discuss European research and innovative solutions, as well as capability needs, for fighting illicit trafficking of goods across the external borders of the European Union. The solutions presented will address capability needs for identification and detection, as well as market intelligence and data analytics, for any type of trafficked material.
The Workshop will be set up around interactive breakout sessions, where experts will discuss with innovators and policy makers solutions relevant to two specific scenarios: wildlife trafficking, and trafficking of intangible assets.
The target audience includes practitioners, particularly customs and law enforcement authorities, but also innovators and policy makers working on, e.g. enhancing detection of threats in the flow of goods and services, and risk assessments.

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-INFRA-2024-TECH-01-03) and running from 2025 to 2028, UrbanAIR develops advanced digital twins that simulate the interactions between urban climate, human behaviour, and policy choices. These models enable cities to explore what-if scenarios, such as new green infrastructure, mobility measures or building designs, and assess their impacts on health, safety and social equity. The project consortium consists of 18 partners from 11 countries. Read more about the project and the contribution of Flemish partner Vito in this testimonial.
