The European Commission is organising this hybrid event - in the framework of the Cancer Mission - with the following agenda:

  • Keynotes: What does palliative care mean for people with cancer? Palliative care determinants, inequalities and policies
  • Session 1: How inderdisciplinary palliative care works in practice: enhance quality of life with kindness & compassion
  • Session 2A (parallel session): The Social Science perspective: life with family and friends & community involvement & Session 2B (parallel session): Innovative approaches, new technologies and future trends
  • Session 3A (parallel session): What research do we need in the future? Research to overcome barriers to palliative care & Session 3B (parellel session): Pediatric palliative care: turning challenges into opportunities
  • Session 4: Future challenges in cancer palliative care: changing demographics

  • Wrap up: How palliative care can be a natural part of all stages of cancer care

UNCHAIN - Revolutionising urban logistics & space management

The UNCHAIN project, ‘urban logistics and planning: anticipating urban freight generation and demand including digitalisation of urban freight’ obtained funding from the Horizon Europe’s Mobility Cluster. The project focuses on breaking down data silos and promoting public-private data exchange across a unified European mobility data space, enabling more informed decisions and greater efficiency. The City of Mechelen is a partner in the project and takes on the role of ‘follower city’: it will work alongside the primary demonstration sites (in Madrid, Berlin and Florence) to maximize the geographical coverage and replicability of solutions across Europe. Mechelen aims to test 2 concrete solutions in the UNCHAIN project, with the aim to help addressing its current and future challenges in urban freight distribution.
