Organised by the PolSCA PAS Office (Poland), the Committee of Agronomic Sciences of PAS (Poland) and the University of Florence (Italy), the conference takes the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe” as its starting point. It looks at how soil health connects to biodiversity, water retention, crop quality and the long-term viability of farming systems, with particular attention to how Living Labs can test and adapt solutions in real-life conditions.

The draft agenda includes an opening plenary on the future of Living Labs in European agriculture, including their role in agricultural innovation ecosystems and possible links to the 10th framework programme. A second session looks at AI tools, crop diversification and soil health, including questions around agricultural data, user needs and the European Partnership for Agriculture of Data. The day ends with a closing session and networking.

A separate brokerage event, “Horizon Europe Cluster 6 Brokerage Event: Partnering for Nature, Agriculture and Resilience”, is planned the day before on 12 October 2026 at the NCBR Office in Brussels. It is aimed at consortium building for selected 2027 Horizon Europe Cluster 6 calls and includes pitches, matchmaking and networking. Separate registration is required for the two events but at this moment in time only possible for the brokerage event.

You can find all information on the brokerage event on this website and on the information session here.

UNCHAIN - Revolutionising urban logistics & space management

The UNCHAIN project, ‘urban logistics and planning: anticipating urban freight generation and demand including digitalisation of urban freight’ obtained funding from the Horizon Europe’s Mobility Cluster. The project focuses on breaking down data silos and promoting public-private data exchange across a unified European mobility data space, enabling more informed decisions and greater efficiency. The City of Mechelen is a partner in the project and takes on the role of ‘follower city’: it will work alongside the primary demonstration sites (in Madrid, Berlin and Florence) to maximize the geographical coverage and replicability of solutions across Europe. Mechelen aims to test 2 concrete solutions in the UNCHAIN project, with the aim to help addressing its current and future challenges in urban freight distribution.
